Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata, according to classification from the aspect of feeding, belongs to the group of oligophagous insects. The most important host plant is potato, Solanum tuberosum. Thank to differences in chemical composition of volatile constituents, this beetle successfully recognise host plants from the other. In this research, masking effect of essential oils of Tanacetum parthenium and Tanacetim vulgare, and their major constituents, camphor and thujone, to attractive constituents of potato leaves were tested. Under laboratory conditions, essential oils of Tanacetim parthenium and Tanacetum vulgare, as well as their major constituents showed successful masking effect to attractive constituents of potato leaves in the range of tested concentrations (0.125, 0.25 and 0.5%). The most effective masking effect was recorded by essential oil of Tanacetum vulgare.
