A need for environmental protection promotion calls for analysis of currently existing environmental impact of agricultural production and agricultural machinery utilization. As treated topic represents very large field of great complexity, the paper is mainly focused on aspects of agricultural production that are in the nearest connection with agricultural machinery utilization. The analysis of the situation in the Republic of Serbia is carried out, accompanied by a sight of how many the real situation matches regulatory rules. The general conclusion is made that the situation is not satisfactory. Main reasons are inadequate and insufficiently developed technological and administrative infrastructure for environmental management, but also the attitude of the individuals immediately involved in agricultural production.
