What is presented in this study is practical application of principal component analysis as one of the multivariate statistical methods that are used in reduction of dimensionality of problem converting large number of variables into smaller number of their linear combinations that are not mutualy correlated. One of the most important application of principal component analysis is the one in regression analysis. In multiple regression analysis it is helpful in solving problem of multicollinearity. Main aim of this study is an explanation of application of principal component analysis on practical examples that are related to livestock production in agriculture. What is going to be shown in this study is a presentation of possibilities and importance of this method in explanation of variability in data related to body measures of cattle. Also, what is going to be performed here is a comparison between results obtained separately for cows and heifers.
