Evaporator station is one of the most important steps in sugar production process, from energy consumption aspect, because the evaporator station represents a very important heat convertor systems. The aim of this study was to determine the differences between projected and real energy consumption after reconstruction in sugar beet factories in Zabalj, Pecinci and Kovacica (Serbia). Computer program for simulation of evaporator station, developed at the Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad (Serbia), was used to evaluate its functionality and detect points with higher energy consumption than it was projected. After three years of measurements and analysis of sugar beet factories state, significant reduction of energy consumption was notices, so, the consumption was 25-45% lower compared to earlier average. The reasons for these higher values of energy consumption than projected were varieties mechanical damages of equipment and bad weather conditions during the campaign.
