Mikic, A.
The thesis shows the results of a research on the genetic variability of agronomic characteristics of 14 genotypes of spring vetch of diverse geographical origin, during 2005 and 2006. Of the agronomic characteristics related to forage yield and quality, there were monitored number of days from sowing until cutting, plant height in cutting (cm), numbers of stems per plant, number of internodes per stem, fresh plant mass (g), green forage yield (t/ha), forage dry matter yield t/ha) and crude protein content in forage dry matter (g/kg). Of the agronomic characteristics related to grain yield and quality, there were monitored number of days from sowing until harvest, plant height in harvest (cm), number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, thousand grains mass (g), grain yield per plant (g), grain yield per area unit (kg/ha), harvest index and crude protein content in grain dry matter (g/kg). There existed significant and highly significant differences between average two-year values of nearly all examined characteristics in the spring vetch genotypes. There was neither genetic nor phenotypic correlations either between forage yields and grain yield or between crude protein content in forage dry matter and crude protein content in grain dry matter. Geographic origin was the most important for grouping the genotypes on the basis of a total mutual similarity.
