The aim of this paper work is to compare start, end and length of vegetation season with frost-free season. Vegetation season is calculated for the temperature threshold above 10 deg C, and frost-free season is determined for strong frosts (minimum temperature less than -4.1 deg C). Daily meteorological data are utilized for calculation of beginning, end and length of growing season and frost-free season for each year during the period of 1949-2007 and determined average value, median, inter quarterly range (25%-75%) and minimum and maximum of occurrences. Spacial distribution is performed by methods of cokriging. The results show that the frost-free season is longer than vegetation season, which means that spring planting crops, buds and flowers of fruits and grapevine in most of years are not affected by temperatures below -4.0 deg C, which is the positive influence on their development and yield.
