The peach die-back pathogen (Cytospora cincta Sacc.) was isolated from diseased branches collected from the Fruska Gora mountain region. Nine isolates, marked as C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4, C-5, C-6, C-7, C-8 and C-9, were chosen for pathogenicity tests. Field inoculations of two-years-old- peach branches were made monthly from May 2000 to April 2001. Symptoms on inoculated branches suggest that inoculations performed during autumn and winter months, i.e. during dormant period, cause die-back, while infections carried out during spring and summer mainly remaine localized due to outgrowth of host new tissue.
