The article presents general overview of state of the art in drinking water treatment modeling programs. In connection with that it describes available, goals, advantages and limitations of use of existing models from this field. Modeling within Stimela-TU Delft environment is described more detailed. Stimela is expecially designed for water quality modeling. It is an environment where different drinking water treatment processes can be modeled dynamically. On the end, this article presents guidelines for further work in this field.
