The seed potato quality in original plots (mini-tubers, the first field generation of mini-tubers, super-super-elite) tested by ELISA of leaf and tuber probes was greatly affected by the condition of basic material. The positive ELISA antivirus reactions were not found by both total (100%) and according to the State Standard 29267-91 (1%) testing of the basic plants in the greenhouse. The same test of the basic plants grown in the field displayed from 2 up 11% of the positive reactions to the PVM and PVY. The seed potato rejection according to the results of laboratory testing combined with early cutting of the haulm (not later two weeks after flowering) promote the keeping of the original seed potato quality during multiplication.
