The results from both the various field trials and the ongoing research at the Institute of Nutritional Science at Halle University indicate that supplementation of the breeding sow's diet with L-Carnitine produces positive effects on reproductive performance and piglet growth. The effect on the milk yield of high-performing breeding sows is particularly noteworthy, since a high milk production guarantees rapid development of the suckled piglets.
