In the last years, the frequency of car transportation and emissions significantly rose in Bratislava. This paper gives some review of soil contamination by PAH gathered on 10 sample places all around Bratislava next to main roads. The sum of sixteen PAH was in range from 0.193 to 4.876 mg/kg.The sample from PKO was highly contaminated with overall PAH at 21.32 mg/kg. In all the isolated and monitored samples, higher concentration of PAH with several aromatic rings prevailed. Concentrations of PAH with two or three aromatic rings were lower. In Slovakia, Law No. 220/2004 is in force. It determines limit values of PAH for agricultural soils. However, current legislation does not set limit values for soils in surrounding of roads, industrial facilities, settlements, or children playgrounds and parks. Even these places face to impacts of various contaminants the monitored pollutants belong to.
