The aim of the paper is to present the results of a PhD. thesis. The thesis is focused on revitalization of the Oponice region - a part of the Oponice village cadastral area. We define and evaluate pedological characteristics as one of the endogenous sources of area that can have significant influence on development of agrarian land, even in a negative way. During the research an inventory has been made and the evaluated pedological characteristics have been graphically transferred into the map outputs. We have localized preferred and deficit areas of the cadaster of Oponice village by identification of intersection of pedological characteristics, while considering Territorial system of ecological stability (TSES) and Protected bird area Tríbeč (PBA).
