Actual state of soil contamination based on hygienic survey in more details on Ždiarska kotlina (depression) is described in this contribution. The basic risk trace elements (Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn, As, Cr, Ni, Hg) as well as organic contaminants (PAHs, PCB) have been evaluated in submitted work. Risk trace elements have been extracted with aqua regia. Bioavailable forms of risk trace elements have been extracted with NH4NO3. Organic contaminants were determined by using capillary gas chromatography method. In addition, the basic parameters concerning soil salinization (pH, exchangeable cations, total content of salts, ECe, SAR, ESP), as the result of alkalic waste deposit influence of Aluminium factory on alluvial soils, were also determined. It was found out that opposite improving emission situation on described region, unfavorable state of contamination of soils exists also at present (it was actually calculated 2676 ha of contaminated soils where 90 ha of alluvial soils are affected also by secondary salinization process).
