Evaluation of service quality in rural accommodation | Možnosti hodnotenia kvality zariadení vidieckeho cestovného ruchu

The quality of services in rural tourism facilities in Slovakia is diverse, and in many cases it is the cause of tourists dissatisfaction. The reasons of this situation are: low qualification, insufficient knowledge and practice skills of managers; small number of employees with too many manifold duties; missing detailed criteria for the accommodation provision in small rural accommodation facilities and adequate service-quality control system. Number of current research studies develop a concept of service quality evaluation focused on the comparison of consumers perceptions and expectations. This concept was adopted by a group of Spanish experts, who measured the service provision quality of rural accommodation facilities. Their studies represent a significant source of information for the creation of the service quality measurement systém of rural tourism facilities in the Nitra region. This system should be compatible with the valid legislation, respect recommendations of international organisations in this sector, apply an optimal method of the quality service measurement for this type of facilities, and define their own set of evaluation criteria.
