Seventeen spring barley lines from Ethiopia with good drought resistance have been studied in the Experimental field of the Institute of agriculture, Karnobat during 2005 2007. With high drought resistance are the lines 091, Pc 14, Pc 4 and 1055. They have grade 2 for field drought resistance and the highest drought resistance coefficient from 63000 to 92000 units. The samples 442 and 128 are with high heat resistance. They resist better high temperatures during the period of grain maturity and have higher number of stomata than the rest the samples. With good productive possibilities are Pc 14 and 091. They have from 33 to 36 grains per ear and weight of grains per ear is respectively 2.23 and 1.98 g. The combination between high drought resistance and good production define the Ethiopia lines like prospective one inclusion in spring barley breeding.
