The transport of different pollutants in the soil, as well as heavy metals could be successfully studied with fill-up type of lysimeters. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of different amendments to reduce the leaching of Cu and Zn with lysimetric waters from polluted acid soil from the region of Zlatitza and to limit the risk of groundwater pollution. For the purpose of the study a pot experiment with fill-up-type of lyzimeters, with volume – 42.39 dm3 was carried out. CaO, peat and zeolite in different doses and combinations were applied to the polluted soil as ameliorants. The concentrations of Cu and Zn in the lysimetric waters were determined and their leaching out of the 60 cm soil layer was calculated. The results show that the amendments added lead to considerable reduction in Cu and Zn concentrations in the lysimetric waters. There is no risk for groundwater pollution in the variants Т3; CaO 1; CaO 2; CaO 3; CaO 2 + T 1 ; CaO 2 + T2 ; CaO 2 + T 3 and especially in the combination CaО 2 + T 2 + Z 1. The application of zeolite alone Z1 doesnt show any positive effect.
