The effect of different levels of poultry manure (0 t/ha, 15 t/ha, 25 t/ha, 35 t/ha) on the growth and yield of Amaranthus cruentus was studied. Data about plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh and dry weights were collected weekly. The values of all the characteristics studied increased with age and were significantly influenced by the level of the farmyard manure fertilization. The best results were obtained with the application of 35 t of manure per ha. The following results per plant were attained 10 weeks after planting: height: 123.27 cm, leaf area: 11,585 square cm, number of leaves: 141.56, fresh weight: 1.75 kg, dry weight: 0.99 kg. In conclusion, we recommend to apply poultry manure at the level of 35 t/ha in amaranthus fields in the rainforest agroecological zone.
