The aim of our experiment was to evaluate the phenotype manifestation of various combinations of HAL gene's alleles in pigs. White meat pigs (75 boars and 76 gilts) were divided into three subgroups according to their genotype as follows: 60 NN pigs, 76 Nn pigs and 15 nn pigs. There were significant differences between the two sexes in average daily weight gains and number of feed days. Significant differences were observed between the nn and NN genotypes in the proportion of valuable meat cuts and backfat thickness. Significant differences were also found out between the nn and Nn genotypes, and between the nn and NN genotypes in the leg proportion. In indicators of pH1 - log molc.(H+) in MLT, unbound water and colour of meat at 520 nm in MLT, we discovered highly significant differences between all the three groups of genotypes studied. The NN pigs reached better values of fattening indicators, whereas nn pigs reached better results in slaughter indicators.
