Trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid (t-10, c-12 CLA) has positive effects on animal productions, one of them as depressor of milk fat (Baumgard et al., 2000). CLA is effective to produce depression of milk fat (Praise and Herbein, 1998; Chouinard et al. 1999a, b; Giesy et al. 1999), being t-10, c-12 CLA the effective isomer for this depression (Baumgard et al. 2000), also has been shown effective in sheeps (Lock et al. 2006). In this study, the aim is to verify the efficacy of two comercial sources of t-10, c- 12 CLA, as depressor of milk fat in two farms in real conditions. In one of them, was produced a significant depression on the percentage of milk fat after 18 days of treatment (from 3.66% to 3.45%), once stopped the treatment they recovered the percentage of fat produced at the beginning of the test (3.63%). In the other farm, during the period in which the animals received the treatment, significant differences were not observed on the percentage of milk fat, as soon as the animals finished the treatment, neither significant differences were observed on the percentage of milk fat produced at the beginning of the test.
