This experiment was conducted to study the effects of plant residues including wheat, clover, corn, sugar beet and nitrogen fertilizer on gall disease of sugar beet at Safiabad Agricultural Research Center of Dezful,Iran. Treatments were arranged as split plot design in a randomized complete block with four replications. Min plots were residues of wheat, clover, corn and sugar beet(as control) and sub plots were 75 kg/ha N from urea and control without fertilizer. In 2005 effect of crop residues on percent infection and weight of galls were significant. Residues of wheat and sugar beet with 58.3 and 81.12% had the lowest and highest percentage of infection, respectively. Effect of nitrogen application on percentage of infection and weight of gall was not significant. Effects of crop residues and nitrogen on percentage of sucrose were significant. Wheat and clover residues with 15.14 and 13.56 % had the highest and lowest percentage of sucrose respectively. In 2006 effects of crop residues and nitrogen on percentage of infection, gall weight, percentage of sucrose and white sugar yield were not significant.
