Breeding of elite poplar species through hybridization or in vitro culture methods followed by acclimatization of them in field condition is important from an economical point of view. Therefor, acclimatization of fast growing poplar and their hybrids were carried out in some province of Iran. In Khuzestan province Growth performance and acclimatization of three genotype of P. euphratica included P. euphratica belongs to Khuzestan province (control), P. euphratica × P. alba hybrid plants and gametoclonal plants of P. euphratica (recover from anther culture) were practiced in Dezful Botanic Garden. Cuttings of three genotypes were transplanted in RBCD experimental design in three replication. Height, diameter and basal diameter were measured in each season for four years. There were significant difference between genotypes in relation to all traits. Height, diameter and basal diameter of gametoclonal plants were higher than two other genotypes and they showed better response to Khuzestan condition. Heterosis effect was not observed for hybrid plants and they had lower yield than their parents. The best vegetative season was winter. Although many genotype were died in last winter due to dessication. It is indicated that the degree of tolerance of different genotype in P. euphratca aren't in common and depend on genetic potentials and interactive effect of them to environmental condition. In conclusion gametoclonal plants showed higher yield and better acclimatization to Khuzestan province. Therefore, It should be suggested to used this genotype for forestation and cultivation in border of rivers.
