Fars province produces about one half of corn grain production in Iran. The main hybrid in this area is SC704 that it,s yield is decreased by maize rough dwarf virus in early and normal planting dates in temperate regions in Fars Province and some other Provinces. Delayed planting is a good method for control of this disease because of population of virus vector ( laodelphax steriatellus) is decreased in seedling stage in late planting dates. Six foreign and two local promising hybrids were compared with SC704 and each other in 5 locations. Randomized complete block design with four replications were used in each location. Combined analysis of variance showed that hybrids BC666 and 4G-3261 produced 14 and 13.5 t/ha of grain yield respectively. They yielded more than the other hybrids but they were late maturiry similar to SC704. Hybrids SC260 and SC302 had less grain yield with good grain moisture percent in harvesting time (about 9-10 t /ha ) but they were early maturity . Hybrids 4G- 3337 and BC5982 had suitable grain yield with good grain moisture percent in harvesting time . Finally , we can conclude that hybrids number 9 and 2 ( BC666 and 4G-3261 ) are suitable for southern locations and hybrids number 1,6,7 and 8 ( 4G-3337, BC5982, SC260 and SC302 ) are well fitted for planting in central and about northern locations of Fars province. Farmers in temperate regions can confidently used SC260 in second planting.
