In this work we present some molecular phylogeny aspects for six species of decorative fishes based on neighbor-joining by the percent of similarity for mitochondrial sequences (12S and 16S RNA genes) from GeneBank, using Clustal W Software. All the specimens included in this study represent three orders: Perciformes (Trichogaster leerii, Trichogaster trichopterus, Betta plendens), Cyprinodontiformes (Xiphophorus hellerii, Poecilia reticulata) and Siluriformes (Platydoras costatus). The comparative analysis of the six species demonstrated that Trichogaster trichopterus and Trichogaster leerii are the most similar: 12S rRNA - 94 percent and 16 S rRNA - 92 percent homology. While, Platydoras costatus, highlighted more differences in both cases.
