The aim of the project was to define relations between the dynamics of groundwater levels and rainfall. The point of departure for this study was the date concerning groundwater levels and sum of atmospheric rainfall in the years 1961-1981 published in Roczniki Hydrogeologiczne Wod Podziemnych and in Roczniki Opadowe. The selection of this time period was determined by the availability of materials published by IMGW and continuity of studies. The analysis of the dynamics of water levels was carry out and six stations in The Lublin Upland. The research revealed that it is the previous year rainfall that has a major influence on underground water surface. A closer connection between the fluctuation of groundwater levels and atmospheric rainfall has been observed in the summer half - year of hydrologic year the rainfall of the winter - half year have the greatest impact on the fluctuation of groundwater levels in the following half - year. It has been observed that it is the rainfall occurring a month before the measurement of water levels that has strangest influence on the dynamics of groundwater levels
