This paper presents the results of the experiment on the effect of reduced soil tillage and direct sowing method on labour time and fuel use in continuous cropping of winter wheat. Reducing soil tillage by replacing plow based tillage by stubble cultivator or disc harrow causes 30-40 percent decrease in costs in soil tillage, while direct drilling method reduced costs by 83 percent. Calculating the costs by unit of yield the differences are smaller, 20-30 and 80 percent, respectively
