Sorptive properties of the Sandomierska Basin [Poland] Phaeozems developed from differentiated parent material

Twelve plots of typical, degraded, and mucky Phaeozems located in the area of Sandomierska Basin (Poland), formed from various parent rocks: loamy, sandy, silty and clay formations were investigated. The differentiated granulometric composition of the soils analysed distinctly corresponds to the variability of their sorptive properties. The organic carbon content significantly influences sorptive properties, especially cation exchange capacity, exchangeable hydrogen and base saturation of the soils
