The studies on chemical properties, including heavy metals and microbiological properties of forest rusty soils within sanitary protection zone of section III-IV of the municipal dumping site in Sierakow were carried out twice in 1996 during the period of monitoring studies development and after the dumping site closure in 2006. The studies showed that 10-year period of dumping site exploitation generally neither deteriorated soil chemical properties nor increased the content of heavy metals in the soil
