In this work are presented the results of 5-year studies on mineralization rate of nitrogen organic compounds in peat-muck soils occuring in three deeply drained habitats and one supplied with ground water under laboratory incubation conditions. Mean mineral nitrogen (N-NO3 and N-NH4) increase in samples taken at completely drained sites was from 2 to 3 times higher than at a site supplied with ground water. At the site supplied wth ground water mean nitrogen increase was 8.6 mg/cubic dm, whereas at the drained sites - from 17.4 to 24.8 mg/cubic dm
