The paper presents the assessment of efficiency of remediation thermal treatment with clay applied to the sediments contaminated with metals (Zn, Pb, Cu, Cr, Cd, Ni) based on the results of semi-dynamic leaching and the TCLP test. Results of semi-dynamic leaching test show that thermal treatment was effective, even when a solution of pH 3.25 was used as a leachant. Diffusion coefficients are lower and leachability indices higher for the mixture which was obtained on the increased temperature (1100 deg C), and when a distilled water was used as a leaching solution. The dominant mechanism of leaching is diffusion. The concentration of metals leached are below the limits prescribed in the TCLP test.
