The immunological reactivity of 4,5-month-old Black-and-White heifers was studied with regard to the time of administering chitosan succinate when vaccinating them against leptosprirosis with a polyvalent vaccine. It was found that subcutaneous injection of chitosan succinate at the dose of 2.6 milli gram/kg 3 days before vaccination a month later after it increased the level of T-lymphocytes in blood and the degree of their differentiation increasing the concentration of lgA in blood serum; after 2 months there was an increase in the fraction of T-lymphocytes enriched in helpers/inducers, the number of gamma-globulins in blood serum promoting thereby more pronounced immune response to produce specific antibodies to all variants of Leptospira in the vaccine. The administration of chitosan succinate to heifers simultaneously with the vaccine after 1 month resulted in increasing the number of T-lymphocytes and the degree of the differentiation, but after 2 months – in reducing the concentration of lgA in blood serum. The injection of chitosan succinate in 3 days after vaccination determined a month later the optimization of a portion of lymphocytes in leucogram, increasing the content of lgA in blood serum, but caused reducing the number of B-lymphocytes and fraction of T-lymphocytes enriched in helpers/inducers; after 2 months resulted in reducing the concentration of lgM. There was an increase in the total protein observed in the blood serum and decline in the level of dysproteinemia. It is concluded that the most pronounced immune response was observed in animals injected with chitosan succinate 3 days before vaccination against leptospirosis
