The manure-based fertilizers are a link between animal industry and crop growing in the system of modern agricultural production. Performance of manure removal systems, manure transportation to storing places, and its processing into fertilizers have a strong influence on sanitary and hygienic conditions inside the cattle houses and environmental conditions around them, and in the long run, on reproduction of soil fertility in case of duly and correct soil application of fertilizers. Up-to-date manure removal systems from animal houses as well as all other technical devices are under permanent upgrading. The present-day farming features production of substantial amounts of manure and manure-based fertilizers that makes it an ecologically dangerous sector. The existing systems fail to provide loss-free transportation of manure and processing it into high-quality ecologically safe fertilizers. The paper dwells on the need to upgrade the systems for fertilizer preparation at cattle forms with due account for up-to-date ecological requirements. Manure removal systems and polities to prepare it for application, which are most often used both in domestic and foreign animal industry are presented, their strong and weak points are described. Based on the carried out investigations the factors and conditions have been established, which should be ken into account when improving the above systems and devices
