Protein content (PCM) of milk and milkability of the holsteinized Black-and-White and Simmental cattle was studied at two farms in the the Novosibirsk Region. It was found up that heifers of the Ob-type of Black and White breed (the farm Kirzinskij) differed from the Simmental cattle by a high milk yield and a relatively lower content of fat and protein in milk. There were more possibilities for selection in a herd of the holsteinized Simmental cattle. The first-calf cow of the farm Ivanovo had the negative (-0.18) relationship between a milk yield and PCM. It was recommended to use bulls -improvers to increase the PCM and mikability of cows. It was established that the daughters of bulls Vodorod 905 (holsterinized Simmental) and Uragan 27 (Ob-type of Black-and-White breed) excelled the contemporaries having milk yield higher by 294 and 205 kg and PCM by 0.07 and 0.05% for reliable difference respectively
