Wilt and/or root rot are the most important diseases of faba bean in the Sudan. The results of pathogens isolation and identification from infected faba bean plants collected from Shambat and Hudeiba research fields indicated that Fusarium species were the most common pathogens associated with the wilt and/or root rot diseased faba bean plants. Many fungi were found to be associated with individual infected plant. Fksarium solani (Mart.) Sacc was isolated in high frequency from both locations followed by Fusarium nygamai Burgess & Trimboli, Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht.emend. Synd. et Hans and Fusarium acutatum Nirenberg & O'Donnell. Others fungal species other than Fusarium species were also found to be associated with faba bean like e.g. Rhizoctonia spp., Alternaria spp. and Drechslera spp
