Ridomil Gold MZ 68 WG is a trade name of a fungicide containing two active ingredients with the common names, metalaxyl-M and mancozeb (40+640 g/kg respectively). Ivory is a trade name of a fungicide containing the two active ingedients mancozeb and metalaxyl (640+80 g/kg respectively). Metalaxyl is a systemic fungicide with protective and curative action. It inhibits protein synthesis in fungi by interference with the synthesis of ribosomal RNA. Chemically it is: methyl 2-\{[(2, 6-dimethylphenyl) methoxyacetyl] amino\} propionate. Metalaxyl-M is the (R) eantiomer of metalaxyl. Mancozeb is a fungicide with a protective action. It is non-specific thiol reactant, inhibiting respiration. Chemically it is: manganese ethylene bis (dithiocarbamate) (polymeric) complex with zinc salt. The two fungicides were evaluated by Nafisa M. Baldo during seasons 2004-07 for the control of early blight in potato
