Irrigation and fertilizer irrigation belong to important factors in cultivation systems used in progressively managed orchards. Cultivation of trees trained in slim spindle is A very economical and appropriate way. Some winter varieties of pear-trees (Bohemica, Lucasova and Williamsova) were planted in the western part of Podunajská nížina lowland and fruit assessments were carried out in 2004-2006. To evaluate the effects of irrigation one control, not irrigated treatment was added to the plot trial with three other treatments that had different levels of fertilisation. The crop quality was assessed and both the quantity as well as the chemical analysis of pear leaves were evaluated in order to investigate how irrigation and fertilizer irrigation and their synergic effect might influence yield aspects in pear production. At the same time also the soil water captured in lysimeters was chemically analysed.
