The researching of agricultural support and the factors of technology policies with corn farming, examining of inputs cost of substitution and complemantary crops on corn in Çukurova region | Çukurova'da mısır tarımını etkileyen destekleme ve teknoloji politikalarıyla ilişkili faktörler

Inglés. In this study, corn farms in Çukurova Region were analyzed based on crop questionnaires obtained from 148 farms. Input costs and gross margins per hectare were calculated for both primary and second crop corn grown in the region. A "Translog Cost Function" was fitted to the data in order to analyze regional input demand. Further, a supply model was constructed for corn, cotton and wheat crops and short run effects of Bt corn seed use in the region was analyzed. Short run gross return elasticity was estimated to be 1,88 from the supply model constructed. Estimated short run gross return elasticities for first crop corn and wheat were 1,64 and -0,88 respectively. Short run gross return elasticity of second crop corn was estimated to be 1,25 by the model. Translog production function was used to estimate input price-demand elasticities for both first and second crop corn grown in Çukurova Region. Among the inputs used in first crop corn production, machinery rent costs (or gasoline prices) was the most elastic (-0,48). On the other hand, machinery rent costs (-0,52) and chemicals (-0,45) were found more elastic than the other inputs in second crop corn production. Results indicate that input demands were inelastic with respect to prices. However, machinery rent costs (or gasoline prices), pesticide and fertilizer were found more elastic than the other inputs. Therefore those inputs should be given more attention ,when developing agricultural support policies for corn farming. It was also estimated in this study that, when Bt seeds are used in second crop corn farming in Çukurova Region, gross margins of the farmers would increase by 66,2 percent. Under this assumptions, wheat plus second crop corn farming would be a more profitable production alternative.

Turco. Araştırmada Çukurova Bölgesi'nde mısır üretimi yapılan işletmeler incelenmiş, 148 tarım işletmesi ile ürün anketi çalışması yapılmıştır. İşletmelerde I. ürün mısır, II. ürün mısır ve buğdayın hektara girdi maliyetleri ve brüt karları tespit edilmiştir. Bu veriler, "Translog Maliyet Fonksiyonu" ile tanımlanan girdi talep modeli kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada ayrıca, Çukurova Bölgesi'nde mısır, pamuk ve buğday arz modeli oluşturulmuş bölgede olası Bt'li mısır tohumu kullanımının kısa dönem etkisi analiz edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Çukurova Bölgesi'nde tahmin edilen mısır arz modelinde, mısırın kısa dönem GSÜD esnekliği 1,88 olarak tahmin edilmiştir. I. ürün mısır arz modelinde, I. ürün mısırın kısa dönem GSÜD esnekliği 1,64, buğdayın kısa dönem GSÜD esnekliği _0,88 olarak tahmin edilmiştir. Tahmin edilen II. ürün mısır arz modelinde, II. ürün mısırın kısa dönem GSÜD esnekliği 1,25 olarak tahmin edilmiştir. Oluşturulan translog maliyet fonksiyonunda, Çukurova'da I. ürün ve II. ürün mısır tarımında girdi fiyat-talep esneklikleri belirlenmiştir. Çukurova'da I. ürün mısır tarımında kullanılan girdiler içerisinde makine kira fiyatları (-0,48) daha esnek olarak tahmin edilirken, II. üründe makine kira fiyatlarıyla (-0,52) birlikte ilaç fiyatları da (-0,45) diğer girdilere göre daha esnek bulunmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda, Çukurova Bölgesi'nde mısır üretimini en fazlaakaryakıt, gübre ve ilaç fiyatlarının etkilediği tahmin edilmiştir. Bu nedenle, destekleme politikaları oluşturulurken bu girdilere önem verilmelidir. Çukurova Bölgesi'nde II. ürün mısırda Bt'li tohum kullanılır ise üreticinin brüt karının %66,2 oranında artacağı tahmin edilmiştir. Bu kabuller altında, buğday + II. ürün mısır tarımı Çukurova Bölgesi'nde daha karlı bir üretim alternatifi oluşturacaktır.
