Study on mass rearing and potential use euborellia SP. (Carcinophoridae: dermaptera) to control some key insect pests on cruciferous and long bean crops in Van Lam, Hung Yen in 2008

The results of the survey earwig species on cruciferous and long bean crops in Van Lam, Hung Yen in 2008 shown that the most common earwig species is Euborellia sp.. There was a clear difference in the distribution of them on difference agroecosystems. Morphological and development characteristics of Euborellia sp. have been studied in laboratory condition. The study has shown that the rate of mass rearing Euborellia sp. is average 5.22. This earwig species has a high potential of reproduction. The study on potential use of Euborellia sp. showed that this earwigs have a high predation capacity on Maruca testulalis Fabricius, Brevicoryne brassicae Linnaeus and Plutella xylostella Linnaeus
