Research results of realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus evaluation of genetic potential of agrosod-carbonated light-loamy soils which were developed on soil-forming rocks of different genesis and with different mineralogical composition indexes of clay (less than 0,001 mm) and silt (0,001-0,005, 0,005-0,01 mm) fractions were presented. On the basis of research results on mineralogical composition there was given a comparison of soil assessment scale obtained by standard methods. The comparative analysis of a standard method of soil evaluation and obtained research results made it possible to specify the general tendency of soil fertility decreasing starting with omergel formations up to generated on chalks. There were noted divergences only in quantity indicators. Grade which was determined by an index method proved to be an objective criterion of quality of agrosod-calcareous sandy loam soils. Application of the presented method for development of grade estimation of other types of soils requires essential verification
