The article examines the main tendencies in the development of dairy cattle breeding in the Republic of Belarus. The structural analysis of expenses for milk production in agricultural organizations of Minsk region is conducted. With the help of economical and statistical methods of the research the main factors, influence of the cost price on milk production, are determined. The development of the dairy cattle-breeding branch in agricultural enterprises of the Republic for the period of 2004-2007 is analyzed. The dynamics of the prime costs and realization prices is displayed. The influence of the livestock concentration on the milk production efficiency is shown. The impact of the cow productivity on the milk prime cost in Minsk region enterprises is analyzed.
