The article shows the role and importance of soybean (Glycine max) production for the Republic of Belarus, taking into account the world experience, and its advantage in comparison with other grain-legume crops. The comparative analysis of protein and oil content in different grain-legume crops is made. Economical efficiency of soybean and wheat production is compared and analyzed. The results of the research show, that the prime cost of the 1 centner of soybean is twice cheaper than 1 centner of wheat and four times more effective for the protein content. The necessity of soybean growing in the Republic of Belarus is proved, because it provides farm animals with balanced fodder, rich in proteins and especially irreplaceable amino acids, as well as proven economic efficiency of growing soy for fodder production.
