In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented results of research into the influence of sowing rates on winter hardiness and seeds productivity of winter rape (Brassica napus) of the hybrid Elvis and variety Leader. It was established, that field germination rate of winter rape seeds did not depend on sowing rate and was within 87.2-77.6% on average during 2007-2008. The field germination rate of the hybrid was higher than that of the variety by 8.2-8.6%. An increase in sowing rate from 0.25 to 1.25 mn germinated seeds per hectare led to decrease in winter hardiness of the hybrid from 89.2 to 56.2%, of the variety – from 81.0 to 58.8%. The highest productivity of seeds of the hybrid Elvis of 5.64-5.82 t/ha is ensured by the sowing rate of 0.5-0.75 mn of germinated seeds per hectare, in plants of the variety Leader – 4.17-4.27 t/ha with sowing rate of 1.0-1.25 mn of germinated seeds per hectare.
