Study and comparison of primary yield on lines and varieties chittee bean.

To achive new chitti bean high yielding varietyies, this study carried out in khairabad research station for two years. The experiment managed using Rectangle Lattice Design that included 27 lines selected from segregating generations and two cultivars: talash and COS 16, and one local variety as checks. During growth season prevalent agronomic practices such as irrigation, weeding and pest control were done. Some traits such as emergence date, days to 50% Flowering, plant type, plant height, flower colar , days to maturity , number of pods per plant and number of seeds per plant were recorded. After harvesting, hundred grain weight and yield determined in the lab. Statistical analysis conducted by using ANOVA and means comparisons done with DMRT. This calculation was conducted for each year and combined analysis for two years. Corrolation coefficient was calculated for plant per squar meter, number of pods per plant, seeds per plant and 100 grain weight, as yield components. Based on results, in the first year 10 lines and in the second year 11 lines were selected. After combined analaysis for two years, finally 10 good lines (1¡2¡3¡7¡11¡13¡21¡23¡24¡27) that had good performance for yield , yield components and plant type were selected to more investigation in compatibility test for or in the next growing season. Based on cluster analysis, lines and cultivars arranged in 5 groups. The fifth groupe had maximum yield and good agronomic traits.
