Investigation, Evaluation and Characterization of Watershed Basins in the Zanjan Province

The research plans about watershed management and soil conservation generally have beenl done in the sponsor catchments. The research method is based on gathering data and extraction of E infomiation from studies that have been done all over the Zanjan province. The Zanjari provinces divided in three main basins with the name of GHEZILOZAN (no.l), ABHAR ROUD (no.2), KHARROUD (no.3) and many of their sub basins are mountains and hills with variety ef geologicalg formations and climatologically conditions. The land use in the basins generally is farming, gardening, rangeland and or released diy lands and there isn't any applicable forest cover. The sub watershed basin that named Zanjanroud and located in the main Ghezilozan basin is selected for construction research stations. The research stations in this sub-basin are: Gharacharyan catchment to research about tlood revenue and artificial. recharge of groundwater. ldaloo catchment to y research about soil conservation and mechanisms of different type of erosions. Barout aghaji catchment to research about watershed management, hydrology and water resources development and finally the River Engineering station at the downstream of Zanjanroud River.
