In order to determine the chemical compositions, gross energy and digestibility of dominant range species plant grazed by camel in Sistan andBaluchestan province, five species including: Haloxylon ammodendron(Ha) , Hammada salicornica(Hs), Siedlitzia osmarinus(Sr), Callignium bungei(Cb) and Salvadora persica(Sp) were sampled from rangelands in Zabol, Zahedan, Iranshahr, Nicshahr, Chabehar and Khash. The crude protein(Cp) of these species were 13.2:t 1, 14.0:t 0.6, 12.7:t0.3 , 6.3:t0.5 and 8.4:t 1.6 percent respectively, which was significantly(p0.05) varried among the species, however "Callignium bungei 'had the lovest (6.3%) and "Hammada salicornica" had the highest (14.03%) Cp. Crude fib er content were; 14.8:t 1.2 , 16:t2.7 , 6.9:t0.7 , 19.5:t 1.7 and 12.5:t 2.5 for the Ha , Hs , Sr , Cb and Sp respectively that was significant different(p0.05) among the species. The highest amount of crude fiber was found in "Cb" (19.5%) and the lowest in 'Sr"(6.2%) respectively. The concentration of Ash were 20.2:t 2.5 , 21.1:t 1.9 , 42.1:t 2.4 , 11.1:t 4.5 and 31.7:t 2.2 for Ha, Hs , Sr , Cb and Sp respectively which was significantly(p0.05) varned among the species. The in vitro digestibility for dry matter were, 77.9:t 1.3 , 83.9:t 4.8 , 89.3:t4.8 , 32.3:t0.6 and 87.7:t4.5 and for organic matter were 72.6:t2.2 , 78.9:t6.2 , 83.8:t9.1 , 29.2:t 11.1 and 81.1:t7.6percentfor Ha , Hs ,Sr, Cb and Sp respectively which were significantly(p0.05) different among the species. The calcium content in all species was higher than the level required by ruminants, but phosphor content was lower.
