The study of Turkmen breed and Turkmen × throughbred crossbred race Horses in Golestan province

An experiment conducted to investigate the body variation and also to determine important biometrical characteristics of 660 Turkmen horse breed and its crossbred with throughbred that were from horse breeding centers and different places of Golestan province. Twenty important points of horse body were chosen for biometrical measurement. The obtained data analyzed by complete randomized design in factorial arrangement. The result showed when inbreeding is increasing from Turkmen to Through bred, the size of all body points increased significantly (P0.05). Trunk length, breast round and elevation in withers was significantly different in variety inbred horses (P0.05).When the age is increased the size of biometrical characteristics increased significantly (P0.05). Trunk length, breast round and elevation in withers in different ages and sex were significantly different (P0.05). Male horse were tallor than female ones in some age (P0.05). Trunk length in first and second groups in three and four years old horse (average 155.78 and 156.44 cm) was taller than crossbred horse in five group at same age (152.78 and 154.71 cm). Elevation in withers in first and second groups in three and four years old (160.3 and 160 cm respectively) was taller than group five in same age (158.34 and 156.19 cm respectively).
