Simple, double, three-linear, and stepped hybrids of Salvia sclarea L. have been developed, which flower in the first vegetation year and manifest heterosis for a series of quantitative characters compared to one or both paternal forms. All the hybrids constitute a valuable material to develop high performance cultivars. The highest heterosis effect was registered for the character "number of first-order ramifications per inflorescence": +78.78 percent compared to the maternal form) and +90.2 percent compared to the paternal form. The majority of F1 hybrids manifest heterosis for the number of verticles on the main spike of the panicle, the heterosis effect ranging from +2.9 to +30 percent. The created F1 hybrids have an increased content of essential oils - 0.9-1.0 percent (d.w.). The heterosis effect for this character related to both parental forms constitutes from +0.3 to 129.5 percent.
