Surgical therapeutical guidance in the case of otitis media in dogs and cats | Conduita terapeutica chirurgicala in otitele medii la caine si pisica

This study presents a surgical guidance for otitis media in the case of tumor formations and polyps at this level. Here are presented the surgical techniques with correct approach at this level for dogs and cats.The observations were made on a number of 18 dogs and 9 cats of different breeds and ages supposed to surgical interventions. The surgical intervention consisted in removing the auricular conduct and lateral osteotomy of the tympanic bule in dogs' cases and ventral osteotomy of tympanic bule in cats' cases. The evolution and healing in operated cases were different from subject to subject depending on the damage degree of the tympanic bule. In that way in the majority of cases we saw a healing after 20-30 days post surgery. A local daily treatment was necessary as well as a general post surgery treatment with antibiotics for 5-7 days.
