Response of wheat to different levels of phosphorus and zinc
2007
Abdul, A.
Experiment was laid out randomized complete block design with factorial arrangement and was replicated thrice having a net plot size of 1.5 m x 5.0 m. Crop was sown during November, 2005 using seed rate of 100 kg per ha. Inqalab-91 wheat variety was sown. The experiment was comprised of phosphorus levels as 40, 80 and 120 kg per ha and zinc levels 0, 4 and 8.kg per ha. Nitrogen was applied at the rate of 100 kg per ha to each treatment. All the fertilizer was applied at sowing time except 1/2 dose of nitrogen which was applied at first irrigation. The sources used for N, P and Zn were urea (46% N), DAP (46%P and 18%N) and ZnSO4 (21%) respectively. The data on yield parameters and yield was recorded. Significant differences in plant height (cm), number of tillers (m-2), spike length (cm), number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike; 1000-grain weight (g), Biological yield (t per ha), grain yield (t per ha), harvest index (%) and fertilizer use efficiency (kg per
