Chiral lactones of bicyclononane system as potential food additives

According to the aim of this research, lactones of bicyclo[3.3.1]- and bicyclo[4.3.0]nonane skeleton were synthesized. The syntheses were successful due to determining optimum biotransformation conditions, use of new synthetic methods, not reported in the literature, and determination of chemical structures of newly obtained compounds. The lactones obtained were subjected to biological tests on fungistatic activity towards phytopathogens living in food products. A special attention was paid to those microorganisms that can produce mycotoxins
