This paper gives the results of the study on resistance of important winter wheat cultivars to Puccinia triticina and Blumeria graminis tritici during 2005 and 2006, at the location of Leposavić, in the conditions of natural infections. The observed average infection intensity for leaf rust was higher in 2005 (16.31%) than in 2006 (9.23%). Average infection intensity for the causal agent of powder mildew in 2005 was 10.38%, while in 2006 it was 8.00%. These results point to the existence of better conditions for infection by the studied pathogens in 2005 than in 2006. In both studied years the most resistant cultivar to Puccinia triticina was Takovčanka, and the most resistant one to Blumeria graminis tritici was cultivar Danica. The investigation showed that leaf rust and powder mildew were winter wheat diseases regularly present at wheat crops in northern parts of Kosovo and Metohia.
